Contract: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week), Permanent

Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 full-time equivalent (FTE)

Start date: May 2026

Qualification: ACA/ACCA

Reports to: Director

The Opportunity

The Client Accounts Manager is a senior operational role within the business, responsible for owning the delivery, quality, and workflow management of accounts and tax return preparation across the client portfolio.

This role works closely with the Director to ensure all client work is prepared to a consistently high standard, on time, and in line with the firm’s expectations.

Role Purpose

To take ownership of accounts and tax return delivery, team leadership, and workflow management, ensuring high technical standards, strong quality control, and reliable delivery across the client portfolio.

Your Role:

Accounts & Tax Return Delivery Oversight

  • Overall responsibility for the preparation and review of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, CGT returns, ATED returns and CT61 returns.
  • Reviewing work prepared by the delivery team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for technical and delivery-related queries
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and ready for UK review and final sign-off where required
  • Maintaining clear documentation and review notes to support quality assurance

Team Leadership & Quality Control

  • Day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and support of the accounts and tax return delivery team
  • Allocating work and managing workloads to ensure deadlines are met
  • Providing clear feedback and guidance to improve technical standards and consistency
  • Supporting training and development of team members
  • Leading by example in terms of accountability, organisation, and professionalism

Workflow & Operational Management

  • Managing end-to-end workflow for accounts and tax return preparation
  • Communicating with clients to request records and provide ad hoc advice and support
  • Monitoring job progress, deadlines, and capacity across the team
  • Identifying risks, bottlenecks, and quality issues early and addressing them proactively
  • Supporting improvements to processes, templates, and internal ways of working
  • Working closely with the Director to ensure delivery aligns with client expectations

About You:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least 7 years post-qualification experience in practice
  • Comfortable taking ownership of delivery quality and workflow management
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and delivering great experiences
  • Experienced in leading and supporting a delivery team
  • Highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with real responsibility

  • Accounts and tax returns are prepared accurately, consistently, and on time
  • Quality issues and rework are minimal
  • The delivery team is well-managed, supported, and clear on expectations
  • Workflow is controlled, predictable, and transparent
  • The Director has confidence in the quality and reliability of client delivery
